Huh?! What?!
No, no, I wasn’t sleeping.
I was just resting for a second.
Totally awake. Sort of. 😉
It’s the first week of school…and my tushy is starting to drag. The week has gone splendidly well…basically no complaints at all, although I’m afraid to say that because it isn’t over yet.
I’m feeling pretty accomplished on the home front…I’ve cooked dinner once this week, ran once this week, done one load of laundry, and now I’m even writing a post for the blog. (The others this week were pre-written…I was semi-prepared.) I’d say overall I’ve coped pretty well.
Today I wanted to link up with Mama Kat’s and sort of answer one of the questions she posed to the group. “If you could change career paths now and be anything you wanted to be…what would you be and why?”
By “sort of answer” I mean that instead of saying what I would be doing (which is stay at home housewife, by the way…no, not stay at home MOM, just housewife) I’m going to say what I’m glad I’m not doing.
*Child photographer: I’m pretty sure I’ve talked about this one before. Child photographers have it rough. I’ve taken quiet a few pictures of my kids this week, and they do the weirdest stuff when you get them in front of a camera. Crazy eyes, weird hunching poses, wompy smiles…I have to take like 5 shots sometimes just to get one that won’t totally embarass them when they look back at it in the album one day.
*Copy machine repair man: Not even going here…the copy machine has been a source of high tension at my school this week. I’ll just say that when that thing goes to jammin’ and beepin’ it sends my blood to boilin’…not a job I would want.
*Elementary school janitor: I love ours. Seriously, love him. But the way those kids lick and touch and scratch and do all sorts of other stuff that you don’t wanna know about makes me get the eebie-jeebies when I think about having to clean it all up. He’s a saint!
*Principal: Again, I’ve got a great one. But I am soooo happy to not have to be the one in charge…when things come up and people are freaking out, it feels good to know that I don’t have to lose sleep over any of it.
So yeah. I think I’ll just stick with teacher for now.
Unless BRAVO decides to start a “Real Housewives of Small Town Texas” show.
Then I might revisit that stay at home housewife thing. 😉
KEEP CALM AND BE THANKFUL FOR YOUR JOB!
