Operation Christmas Child

Christmas is right around the corner, and a big part of the season are all the opportunities to help others who may be in need.

Yesterday Chris & I helped pack and deliver Thanksgiving feast baskets & were reminded of how much of a blessing it is to bless others. The suprise and joy on the faces of the families we visited warmed my heart and definitely put my own personal money worries into perspective. I am thankful for what I have and that I am in a position to help others.

Another opportunity we had through our church was to put together a gift box for “Operation Christmas Child.” We decided to fill our box with goodies for a 5-7 year old girl, which included lots of pink & sparkles & pretties. I had trouble making it all fit in the box!

Included in my information packet was a weekly prayer guide, so I thought I’d invite you to join with me in praying for the child that will receive our box, along with the thousands of children that will receive gifts through this program.

Jesus is the reason for the season!

Weekly Prayer Guide:

Monday – Most children who receive shoe box gifts live in desperate circumstances. Pray that God will meet their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.

Tuesday – Pray for our ministry partners in countries around the world, especially that the shoe box gifts and follow-up discipleship programs will be effective evangelism tools.

Wednesday – Pray that doors will be opened, so the Good News can be shared in countries that are not receptive to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Thursday – Pray for those who fill shoe box gifts this year, especially for children, that they will see that it is truly more blessed to give than to receive.

Friday – Pray for those involved in collecting, processing, transporting, and delivering shoe box gifts, including the tens of thousands of volunteers.

Saturday – Pray for the Samaritan’s Purse staff located throughout the world as they handle the logistics of Operation Christmas Child.

Sunday – Pray for the children and their families who receive a shoe box gift, that hearts will be opened to the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Thank you for your prayers…what are your plans for sharing the love during the holiday season?
