Count your many blessings…

…Name them one by one! Count your many blessings and it will surpise you what the Lord has done!

Hello there! With Thanksgiving being right around the corner, I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about the things in my life that I am thankful for. <Turns out I am more blessed than I act most of the time. :P> So today’s post is about what I am doing to show honor to those people and things and circumstances I am thankful for…

You may remember my posts from a while back called “Answered Prayer Jar” and another called “Twas the Day After Halloween.” The first was about writing down my answered prayers (i.e. things I am thankful for) and placing them in my answered prayer jar. The second was about decorating for Thanksgiving and included several links to printables. The ideas from these two posts combined and gave me…THE THANKFUL PAPER CHAIN! (When I say that in my head I hear a deep booming voice, like the one you hear on previews for movies or something. Go ahead, read it again!)

Here’s what that means: I found a printable with a beautifully scripted font that says “I am thankful for…” and printed it out on brown cardstock. Then I spent the beginning of November writing down and praying over all the things I am thankful for. I stapled them all together into a paper chain, hung it up to decorate, and voila! I think it is a simple and thoughtful way to enter into the Thanksgiving season…and I’ve got special plans for it when Christmas-time rolls around!

Here’s what I’ve to so far…I’ll keep adding to it until Thanksgiving!

So what about you? What are you doing to get your heart and mind focused on thankfulness this Thanksgiving?
